In September, the ResearchMaster team journeyed to Darwin to take part in the annual conference of the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS). Across the three-day conference, over 500 delegates descended upon the Darwin convention Centre. They hailed from a diverse range of locations globally: Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia were represented, but so too were those from farther afield, like the United Kingdom and Portugal.
ResearchMaster has for many years been a proud sponsor of ARMS, so it is always deeply gratifying to see a conference so well-attended! The attendees were industry experts and represented an enormous wealth of research management and administration experience, and we were delighted to catch up with familiar faces and forge connections with industry colleagues who were new to us.
We were able to discuss key challenges and opportunities for the sector, including highly nuanced topics like the growing interest from industry in research, changes to research publishing, and the impact of shifts in the composition of student bodies on funding processes.
The ResearchMaster team were also privileged to showcase one of our most popular modules, the Costing and Pricing Tool. Our lunchtime demonstration of the solution’s capabilities was well-attended, but the limitations of time during the course of a busy conference meant that it was challenging to fully address all the conversations it sparked.
If you did not manage to make it to the event this year, the 2025 ARMS conference is scheduled to be held in vibrant Melbourne, and we could not be more excited to see it come to ResearchMaster’s home city. We look forward to attending once again, and we can only hope that the next conference will be as engaging and thought-provoking as this last.
